
End of the waterfalls: It’s hard to see in this photo, but now that the waterfalls are turned off for good, the scaffolding stands alone in a rusty, sea-weathered state. I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but this part of the project’s life is far more meaningful to me than when the water was on. It also makes a lot more sense that the artist chose to use such an industrial structure. New York is aging, and we are aging, and it may not be pretty, but it’s alright, and more importantly, it’s inevitable.
